‘Bracco1881’ is a small family-owned winery in Brazzano, Friuli Venezia-Giulia.
They’ve been producing wine for 5 generations, and in the last three years I had the opportunity to work with them during the harvest, collecting grapes as well as great memories (and a salary, of course).
This animatic started as a small gift to the Bracco family, thanking them for turning what most would consider as mere manual labor, into a celebration among friends.
Excited about the simple animations I had made, we started talking about it as a possible social media ad for the winery. At last, it turned into a Christmas greeting for their social media page (although being far from finished in my eyes).
Wine has always been present in my life, not simply because I’m Italian, and no, I don’t have a drinking problem, but because my father has been working for a major Italian winery for as long as I can remember.
He has always been passionate about his job and its products, making it impossible to not develop at least some interest in wine myself.
When the first quarantine striked, closing bars and restaurants and flattening his sales, he asked me for a couple of illustrations for a possible campaign towards private consumers he could pitch to the company.
The project never took off.
